Abbott endorses Clardy for re-election Jacksonville Daily Progress

NACOGDOCHES – Gov. Greg Abbott (R) endorsed State Rep. Travis Clardy’s bid for re-election to represent House District 11 (HD11). In his endorsement, Gov. Abbott said the following: Representative Clardy has helped lead the cause for improved teacher pay, retention and recruitment in the Texas school system. Not only that, his small business background means Representative Clardy understands the importance of a thriving business climate in the state of Texas. I am proud to endorse Travis Clardy for another term as a State Representative. The voters of House District 11 can be assured that Representative Clardy will faithfully fight for their values and needs in Austin.

In response, Rep. Clardy issued the following statements:

Statement 1: I appreciate Gov. Greg Abbott’s leadership of our state and am honored to have his endorsement for my re-election. I am humbled by the privilege, opportunity, and responsibility of serving the citizens of HD 11 and look forward to successful campaigns in the primary and general elections.

Statement 2: Through Gov. Greg Abbott’s leadership, Texas has thrived as an economic powerhouse and a symbol of the opportunities that can be created through conservative principles of government. I am honored Gov. Abbott has endorsed my re-election and look forward to working with him in the 86th Legislative Session.

Statement 3: Working with Gov. Abbott to address teacher pay during the 85th Legislative Session was an honor. I will continue to ensure the Legislature upholds its Constitutional obligation to provide a quality public education for the children of Texas in the 86th Session.
